Canada proposed to set limits for chlorides and other substances in drinking water

On March 9, 2024, Health Canada published a Government notice in Volume 158, Issue 10 of the Canada Gazette, proposing to establish a standard limit for substances such as chloride in drinking water, with a comment period ending May 31, 2024.

 

Main contents: Chlorides ≤ 250 mg/L, sulfates ≤ 500 mg/L, total dissolved solids (TDS) ≤ 500 mg/L, hydrogen sulfide ≤ 0.05 mg/L.
