The government of the Russian Federation has signed a regulation requiring the introduction of digital labeling for canned food, vegetable oils and fats, and non-alcoholic beer as of September 1, 2024. importers, distributors and producers of products subject to mandatory digital labeling will be required to register their products with the Russian "Honest Labeling" system. The requirements are as follows:
--From October 1, 2024, producers and importers of non-alcoholic beer will be required to digitally label their products; from April 1, 2025, information on retail sales (including bulk sales) will be required to be registered in the labeling system; and from March 1, 2026, data on non-alcoholic beer withdrawn from circulation for other reasons, e.g., for own use, will be required;
-- From October 1, 2024, producers and importers of vegetable oils and fats products (in glass and plastic packaging) will need to digitally mark their products; marking of other packaging types will begin from February 1, 2025; and from November 1, 2025, information on products withdrawn from circulation will need to be transmitted through the marking system.
