According to the BBC, on June 11, 2024, the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration announced a recall of three kinds of hot chicken flavor ramen produced by South Korea's SAMYANG Food Co. due to high levels of capsaicin in the products, which could lead to acute poisoning of consumers.
The recalled products are known to include Buldak 3x Spicy hot chicken flavor ramen, 2x Spicy hot chicken flavor ramen and a spicy soup ramen.
The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration said that consumers who have purchased these products should discard them or return them to the store where they were sold.
In response to the warning issued by the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration, South Korea's SAMYANG Food Co. issued a statement saying that the recall of the three hot chicken flavor ramen by the Danish side was not due to product quality, but rather that the products were considered too spicy and could have an impact on consumers' health if consumed. The company also said it will pay close attention to local regulations in Denmark.
