Bilateral trade in agricultural products, raw materials and foodstuffs between Russia and China grew by 33.9% to $11.1 billion (9.4 million tons) in 2023, according to a survey provided by the Russian Center for the Development of Agricultural Products Exports.

Chinese exports of agricultural products, raw materials and foodstuffs to Russia grew by 5.8% to $2.3 billion (1.2 million tons). The main products exported from China to Russia were tobacco and its substitutes (17.4%), vegetables (5.0%), non-food extracts and natural resins (4.7%), mushrooms (4.0%), and other edible plant parts such as fruits and nuts (3.9%).

Russian exports to China increased by 44.1% to $8.8 billion. The products with the highest export volumes were frozen fish (18.0%), rapeseed oil (17.0%), shrimps and crabs (13.9%), sunflower oil (10.5%) and soybeans (7.8%).

Russian agricultural exports to China accounted for 79.0% of the total Russian-Chinese agricultural trade.
