Letter of the National Food Safety Standards Review Committee on Soliciting Comments on the Draft Revision of the General Rules for Nutritional Labelling of Prepackaged Foods for Food Safety (Draft for Soliciting Opinions [2018] No. 46)


In accordance with the arrangements of the National Health and Safety Commission's 2017 National Food Safety Standards Revision Plan, on December 19, 2018, the National Food Safety Standards Review Committee issued a general rule on the “National Standards for Pre-packaged Foods for Food Safety” (Draft) A letter of revision of the draft opinion, publicly solicited opinions on the “General Rules for Nutrition Labelling of Pre-packaged Foods for Food Safety National Standards” revised by the China Nutrition Society, the Center for Nutrition and Health of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Food Safety Risk Assessment Center. The deadline for comments is January 4, 2019.

Compared with the 2011 version, the "Food Safety National Standard Pre-packaged Food Nutrition Labeling General Rules" (draft for comments) is mainly due to the addition of mandatory labeled nutrients; the addition of energy and mandatory labeling of nutrients; and the modification of some nutrients. expression; modified the allowable error range of vitamin A and vitamin D; revised the requirements for exempting pre-packaged foods with mandatory labeling of nutrition labels; modified nutrient reference values ​​(NRV) for some nutrients; refined the recommended format for some nutrient ingredients; Revised some of the nutritional claims and nutrient functional claims; added recommendations for prepackaged food serving sizes.
