Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on Printing and Distributing the Work Program for the Supervision of Agricultural Genetically Modified Organisms in 2019 (Farming Office [2019] No. 4)
In order to strengthen the supervision of agricultural genetically modified organisms, we will earnestly perform the duties assigned by the Seed Law and the Regulations on the Safety Management of Agricultural Genetically Modified Organisms, and ensure the healthy and orderly research and application of agricultural genetically modified organisms. On January 23, 2019, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs The Office issued a notice on the issuance of the 2019 Agricultural GMO Regulatory Work Program (Farming Office [2019] No. 4). The work plan specifies the objectives, tasks, regulatory priorities, and work requirements for the supervision of agricultural GMOs in 2019.
Three kinds of food additive new varieties such as iron oxide red are seeking for public comment
According to the Regulations on the Administration of New Varieties of Food Additives, on January 28, 2019, the National Food Safety Risk Assessment Center released three new varieties of food additives such as iron oxide red, sodium stearoyl lactylate and caramel color (ammonium sulfite). Open for public comment, the deadline for soliciting comments is 30 days from the date of publication.
