CFSA | Solicited Public Opinions on 4 Novel Food Ingredients (May 21, 2019)

On May 21, 2019, China National Centre for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) solicited public opinions on 4 novel food ingredients, including 1 oligosaccharide and 3 bacterial strains.

The deadline for solicitation is June 17, 2019.



The detailed information is as follows:

1. β-1, 3-glucan

Sucrose, fermented by Rhizobium pusense

Recommended Daily Intake

≤ 3 g/day

Remark

1. Infants and young children, pregnant women and lactating women should not consume. The inappropriate consumption group should be marked on labels and instructions.

2. The quality specification shall be in compliance with National Food Safety Standard Food Additive β-1, 3-glucan (GB 28304-2012).

 

2. Edible strains

1. Approved as strains that can be used in foods for infants and young children.

2. The quality specification shall be in compliance with relevant standards.
