The Korean government decided to promote the unification of food safety standards in China, Japan and South Korea

On June 9, according to Korean media reports, when chairing the Food Safety Policy Committee, South Korean Prime Minister Zheng Shijun said: The South Korean government decided to unify the different food safety standards in China, Japan and South Korea to eliminate non-tariff barriers to food.

This proposal includes the improvement of food culture promotion plan, One-Asia food safety project promotion plan, strengthening the sanitation and safety management of shellfish production area, National Residual Substances Inspection Project Plan for the introduction of raw milk (Personal inspection and government verification plan conducted by US, Japan, and EU), Promoting the results of the 2019 food safety management implementation plan, etc.

The eating habits and production environment of China, Japan, and Korea are similar. The food market accounts for 28% of the world market, which may have a great impact on Asia and the world market. However, due to different food safety standards, three countries have difficulties in the food industry such as unqualified export products.

Therefore, the South Korean government plans to establish the "Food Safety Management Association" for China, Japan and South Korea this year. It will formulate the "Integrated Plan for Food Safety Management Standards" in 2021 and will develop the "Comprehensive Standards for Food Safety Management" in 2022, while improving the level of food safety management.

       6月9日,据韩媒报道,韩国国务总理郑世均在主持食品安全政策委员会时表示:韩国政府决定统一中、日、韩三国不同的食品安全标准,消除食品的非关税壁垒。
       本次提案包括改善饮食文化推进方案、One-Asia食品安全项目推进方案、加强贝类生产海域的卫生与安全管理方案、引进生乳的国家残留物质检测项目方案(采用美国、日本、EU开展的个人检查,政府验证的计划)、促进2019年度食品安全管理实施计划的成果等。
       中、日、韩三国的饮食习惯和生产环境相似,食品市场规模占世界市场的28%,对亚洲和世界市场可能会产生极大影响,但由于各自的食品安全标准不同,各国都有发生出口产品不合格事例等食品行业的困难。
       为此,韩国政府计划在今年成立中、日、韩“食品安全管理协会”,2021年制定《食品安全管理标准整合计划》,2022年开始开发《食品安全管理综合标准》,同时提高食品安全管理水平。
