On July 15th, according to the Beijing Consulate of the Ecuadorian Embassy in Beijing, the Ecuadorian government has recently held at least four meetings with the Chinese government regarding the detection of COVID-19 on the outer packaging of frozen shrimp imported from Ecuador. The Ecuadorian minister Luis Gallegos said that Ecuador has assured China that it will perform "necessary procedures" to ensure the safety of Ecuador's products exported to the international market.

Luis Gallegos also mentioned that Ecuador is not the only country restricted to export to Chinese market. Over 23 countries are influenced by the restriction measures, such as the Salmon exported from Chile and meats exported from Argentina and Brazil. The problem had already been solved under the framework of friendship and close attention between Chinese and Ecuador.
