South Korea releases partial amendments to the "Regulations for the Implementation of Laws on Labeling and Advertising of Food, etc."
On 9 September, Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) issued a partial amendment to the Rules for the Implementation of Laws related to labeling and Advertising of Food, etc. The main contents of the modification include the suggestion by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety that operators who are not responsible for food labeling should label consumer safety labeling items. The label for high caffeine was expanded from 0.15mg/mL to all liquid foods containing caffeine. Foods for infants and children under 2 years of age shall be labeled in accordance with the nutrient intake standards in the National Nutrition Management Law if the nutritional ingredient standard value is to be labeled. In addition, adjust the standards of administrative penalties for violation of food and other production marks.
