South Korea releases draft amendments to the "Regulations for the Implementation of Health Functional Food Laws"
Foodmate News: On October 6, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of South Korea issued Announcement No. 2020-432, intending to amend part of the "Regulations for the Implementation of Health Functional Food Laws". The main contents are as follows:
1. When a professional health functional food manufacturer is engaged in the production of sanitary products and has an inspection room, the business site does not need to set up a separate quality management room.
2. When engaging in the distribution and sales of health functional foods in the form of e-commerce or mail order, a residential building can be used as a business location for business declaration.
3. When the distribution seller does not have sufficient storage facilities such as warehouses, it can use the storage facilities of the health functional food professional production industry of the same distribution sales operator, or use the storage facilities of the health functional food professional production industry that commissioned the product.
4. When changing the business declaration items of the health functional food sales business, if the business declaration certificate is lost, the reason should be stated on the change declaration form, and there is no need to attach the business declaration certificate.
5. Modify some terms and foreign languages to make it easy to understand.
