South Korea strengthens the safety management of acrylamide in snacks, infant food, coffee, etc.
Foodmate News: October 15, Korea Food and Drug Safety Department (MFDS) published the news that: in order for high temperature cooking, processed foods that may arise when acrylamide advance preventive safety management, set up all kinds of Korean food The proposed limit of the project is planned to be implemented from January 1, 2021.
The recommended limit of acrylamide is: ▲Main foods for sensitive people (food for infants and young children , cereals), ▲Foods with high exposure contributions ( snacks , French fries from catering companies, coffee ), foods with high pollution levels (solid tea, cereals) Processed products and instant food) etc.
Foods for infants and young children, cereals: less than 0.3 mg/kg.
Foods for infants and young children refer to: formula milk, formula foods for infants, formula foods for growth period, complementary foods for infants and young children, and foods sold with infants and young children as food objects.
Coffee (roasted coffee, instant coffee, formula coffee): below 0.8 mg/kg.
Snacks, French fries (cooked food of catering companies), tea (solid tea), processed cereal products and instant food: 1 mg/kg or less.
When acrylamide exceeds the recommended limit, the result is first notified to the operator, and administrative guidance such as ①self-discipline recall ②self-restraint production, import ③emission reduction, etc. will be implemented.
If the operator fails to implement the improvement measures, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety of Korea will publish the relevant information on the National Food Safety website in order to let consumers know about it.
