South Korea Issues Partial Amendments to the "Implementation Rules of the Special Law on the Administration of Imported Food Safety"
Foodmate News: On October 20, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of South Korea issued a partial amendment to the "Implementation Rules of the Special Law on The Administration of imported Food Safety", the main contents of which are as follows:
In order to build and operate an integrated information system for imported foods, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety of Korea will establish and manage imported food and other safety information databases, as well as the inspection and evaluation of imported food integrated information systems, and allow the Food Safety Information Institute to be within budget Support the cost of the integrated information system for imported food. If the MFDS requires the person in charge of the relevant department to provide the materials and information required by the integrated information system for imported food, it will provide a document in written form that includes the content, scope, purpose of use, and submission method of the information.
