Japan | Revise the “Specifications and Standards for Agricultural and Veterinary Drug Residues and Additives”
On October 21, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare issued a draft for comments on some amendments to the "Specifications and Standards for Food and Additives". The main modifications include:
1. Pesticide residue limits: It is proposed to modify the residue standards for pesticides in food such as pyrizoyl ester, cyclofluramide, biphenylpyrimidine, nequinazoline (m-diazobenzene) insecticides and pyriproxyfen.
2. Specification and standard of additives: The specification and standard of pyrizoyl ester are to be modified.
The deadline for the above comments is November 19, 2020.
