Q41. Can fatty acids such as conjugated linoleic acid and linolenic acid be labeled under "fat", such as listed under "polyunsaturated fatty acid"? Can monounsaturated fatty acids and polyunsaturated fatty acids be combined into a unified label for "unsaturated fatty acids"?
Answer: According to the provisions of this standard, in addition to the mandatory labeling content, other ingredients in Table 1 of this standard can be selec
ted in the nutrition fact, as well as the GB 14880-2012 "Natio

Q42. The nutrient fact is in the form of common labeling in Chinese and English. Is it okay if the Chinese and English labels are separated into two lines? Is it okay to capitalize the first letter of English?
Answer: Chinese and English can be marked in two lines. There is no specific requirement for the capitalization of English initials. The six formats given in Appendix B of this standard are the basic formats for enterprises to mark nutrition labels. Enterprises can make appropriate adjustments in the layout design, the purpose of which is to be intuitive and co

Q43. Can the first letter of the English labeling unit of energy in the nutrient fact be capitalized?
Answer: Table 1 of this standard enumerates the requirements for the names, ex
pression units, and revision intervals of energy and various nutrient components, in order to guide enterprises to label nutrition information reaso
nably and avoid misunderstanding by consumers. When making nutrition labels, enterprises can change the fo
nts according to the layout design, so as not to affect the correct understanding of consumers.
Q44. Is the format of the nutrient fact other than a two-row and one-column table irregular? Is it okay to have a horizontal line between each row?
Answer: In order to standardize food nutrition labeling and make it easier for co
nsumers to remember and compare, six basic formats are recommended in Appendix B of this standard. On the basis of ensuring compliance with the basic format requirements and ensuring that co
nsumers are not misled, companies can make appropriate adjustments in the layout design, including but not limited to: adjusting the text format (left alignment, centered Etc.), the color of the background and the table or the appropriate increase of the inner border, etc.
Q45. For pre-packaged food with a total area of less than 100 cm2, is it allowed to declare the nutritional content in a non-table format?
Answer: Prepackaged foods whose total surface area of the product package is less than or equal to 100 cm2 or whose maximum surface area is less than or equal to 20 cm2 can be exempted from compulsory nutrition labeling (o
nly one of the two is satisfied), but voluntary nutrition information is allowed. When such products voluntarily label nutrition information, text format can be used. In other cases, when labeling nutrition labels, they should be expressed in the form of "box table" in accordance with Clause 3.3 of this standard
