On November 20, the State Administration for Market Regulation issued six supplementary food testing methods, including “The Determination of Promethazine in livestock meat and offal”, “The Detection of Disinfectant Residue in Infant Formula Food, and “The Determination of Phenylphenol in Wheat Flour by High Performance Liquid Chromatography.

★SAMR | Soliciting Public Opinions on Non-nutrient Supplements in the List of Health Functions Allowed for Health Food Claims (Draft) ★

In view of the fact that the original Ministry of Health no longer accepted and approved health functions such as the anti-tumor, auxiliary anti-tumor, anti-mutation and anti-aging, and the lactation-promoting function, the function of growth and development improvement, the function of the skin oil improvement are not in line with the existing health function positioning. Therefore, the above functions are no longer included in the catalog of health functions that allow health food claims.

In July 2019, The State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) issued a public consultation on "Working Procedures for On-site Inspection of Special Food Registration (Interim) (draft for comments)". After more than a year, SAMR officially issued the "Work Regulations for On-site Inspection of Special Food Registration (Interim)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Working Procedures") on 26 November, 2020.
