3. Announcement and approval of new varieties of food-related products
In 2020, the Natio
nal Health Commission approved a total of 46 new varieties of food-related products, including 10 new varieties of food co
ntact materials and product additives (Accounting for 21.74% of the total), 18 new varieties of resins for food co
ntact materials and products (39.13%), 14 types of food co
ntact materials and product additives with expanded use (30.43%), and 4 kinds of resins for materials and products with expanded use (8.7%). The application of new varieties is usually approved in the second or even the third year, and the applicant can make correspo
nding reference when making the application.
In addition, from the perspective of the approved product application range, the most approved products for additives are plastic products, accounting for 54%, followed by paints and coatings, paper and cardboard.
