Amendments to the "Standard Inspection Method for Food Additives-Sodium Alginate" in Taiwan
On March 29, 2021, the Food and Drug Administration of Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare issued the Announcement No. 1101900582 of Weishoushizi, amending the "Food Additive Specification Inspection Method-Sodium Alginate", which will take effect on July 1, 2022. The main points of the amendment are as follows:
1. Correct the "Appearance", "Monitoring" and "Arsenic".
2. Delete "liquid", "sulfate", "heavy metal", "starch", "gelatin" and "ignition residue".
3. Add "structural formula", "molecular formula", "molecular weight", "content", "water insoluble matter", "lead", "microbiological specifications", "content determination" and "references".
4. Add and revise part of the text.
