EU intends to revise the maximum residue limits of spirotetramat in some foods


On March 30, 2021, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) announced that it intends to revise the maximum residue limits of spirotetramat in leeks, scallions and honey.

According to Chapter 6 of European Regulation (EC) No 396/2005, Bayer S.A.S.-Crop Science division submitted the amendment application. based on the results of the risk assessment, the European Food Safety Authority concluded that, according to the reported agricultural practices, short-term and long-term ingestion of residues resulting from the use of spirotetramat are unlikely to pose a health risk to consumers.
