On April 5, 2021, the Singapore Food Authority (SFA) announced that it would adjust the import restrictions on poultry products from areas affected by the avian influenza epidemic in Ireland.

It is understood that on December 16, 2020, due to the outbreak of H5N8 Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), Singapore imposed temporary import restrictions on poultry and its products imported from Ireland.

At present, SFA has cooperated with Ireland on the regionalization of highly pathogenic avian influenza, so that import restrictions are limited to the 10 km surveillance area affected by the avian influenza epidemic in Ireland. All poultry and their products from areas outside the 10 km surveillance zone will be accepted for import.
