EU publishes a list of third countries that allow the export of animal-derived foods for human consumption to the EU
On March 31, 2021, the Official Journal of the European Union published the (EU) Commission Implementation Regulation No. 2021/405, which is a list of third countries that allow the export of animal-derived foods for human consumption to the European Union. According to the list, China’s farmed rabbit meat (Annex 5), aquatic products (Annex 9), frog legs and snails (Annex 11), gelatin and collagen from cattle, sheep, pigs, odd-hoofed animals and poultry ( Annex XII and XIII) are allowed exporting to the EU.
This regulation, as a supporting specification of Regulation No. 2017/625, will be implemented on April 21, 2021.
