On April 14, 2021, the Eurasian Economic Union issued the No. 1 Amendment (TP CU 034/2013) to the Technical Regulations on the Safety of Meat and Meat Products. The main revisions are:
1. Add "The actual protein and fat of meat products used for baby food shall not exceed the allowable levels listed in Annex 4" in paragraph 17.
2. Paragraph 106 is changed to "The labeling of slaughter products and meat products shall comply with the requirements of the Customs Unio
n’s Food Product Labeling Technical Regulations (TR TC 022/2011) and paragraphs 107 to 126 of this technical regulation, as well as the requirements listed in this paragraph.
3. When labeling the nutritio
nal value of slaughter products and meat products, protein shall not be less than 80% of the value specified in the product label, and the value of fat, carbohydrate, and energy (calories) shall not exceed 120% of the value specified in the product label.
The amendment will take effect after 180 days from the date of publication.
