South Korea Issues Partial Amendment to "Aquatic Product Safety Investigation Business Processing Essentials"
On May 11, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of South Korea issued Announcement No. 2021-41, amending some contents of "Aquatic Product Safety Investigation Business Processing Essentials", the main contents of which are as follows:
1. The sample collection methods such as the sampling amount for "Safety Investigation" in the production stage should follow the "Sample Collection and Operation Method" in the Codex Alimentarius.
2. In order to improve the speed of notification and work efficiency, when the results of the "safety investigation" are qualified, the investigating agency can report to the autonomous organization of the jurisdiction by telephone.
3. Newly set the sample collection specification, sample collection fee reimbursement form, information provision consent form, and improvement of aquatic product safety survey sample collection specification.
4. Reasonably improve the quarterly report format of the "Safety Investigation" results.
