New Zealand intends to revise the sensory evaluation procedures for exported wine
On May 24, 2021, the New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) issued Consultation Announcement No. 5 of 2021, which proposed to revise the sensory evaluation procedures for exported wine. The main contents of the revision are:
It is proposed to abolish the requirement that the official evaluation team conduct sensory evaluation and inspection of exported wine. Instead, the manufacturer will provide a statement confirmed by winemaker that the wine has no sensory defects through Wine e-Cert system when exporting wine. The premise is exported wine production enterprises need to keep necessary samples and related records for official inspection.
