Recently, in accordance with the provisions of the Food Safety Law, the National Health Commission (NHC) and the State Administration of Market Regulation jointly issued Announcement No. 8 of 2021, issuing 17 new national food safety standards and 1 amendment.
The announcement this time fully consider the health rights of the people, take into account the development needs of the food industry, refer to relevant international regulations and common practices, and are required for food safety supervision. The standard formulation and revision process has fully solicited opinions from all parties and submitted to the WTO. It mainly includes: 2 microbiological limit standards including "Limits of Pathogenic Bacteria in Prepackaged Foods" (GB 29921-2021), a food product standard of "Frozen Grains and Prepared Foods" (GB 19295-2021), 6 food additive quality specifications, 3 nutrient fortifiers quality specification standards, 5 inspection methods and procedures standards, and No. 1 amendment of "General Rules for Sports Nutrition Foods" (GB 24154-2015).
