On December 27, 2021, the Brazilian Agriculture, Livestock and Supply Ministry (MAPA) publish Regulation No. 487 by the Official Gazette, amend the scope of the plant product registration requirements of the standard. The main contents are as follows:

(1) The registration of plant product manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, etc. will become mandatory;

(2) A list of plant products will be published, which includes enterprise classifications of different registration levels and corresponding qualifications;

(3) Registration requirements for exporters, manufacturers, and importers. online registration and submission content requirements, declarations that comply with the regulations of the exporting country, good manufacturing practices, product quality and traceability requirements;

(4) The company registered in the registration system is still valid until the date of effective registration. The amendment takes effect from the date of publication.
