On January 10, 2022, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) issued a notice that Malaysia has revised the code format for meat and egg processing establishments.

SFA has adopted the revision of code format of SFA-accredited meat and egg processing establishments in Malaysia, as assigned by the Malaysian competent authority, Department of Veterinary Services. The change in code format is purely administrative.
The new establishment code has the insertion of the character of “V” after Malaysia’s country code (MY). The list of new establishment codes is attached in Annex A. All traders are required to use the new establishment codes when applying for the import permit for meat and egg products from SFA accredited establishments in Malaysia. from 17 January 2022.
