On 12 April 2022, the Greek Food Authority (EFET) issued a public consultation on the proposed revision of the standards for pasta under Chapter 115 of the Food and Beverage Act. The main contents of the revision are:
(1)Expanding the definition of pasta, including products made from other grain flours, such as durum wheat and soybean flour;
(2) Defining specific categories of pasta, including "durum wheat pasta", and setting their specifications;
(3) The regulatory framework is simplified by removing requirements that do not contribute materially to the quality and safety of the relevant products.
The feedback period of the revision is until April 30, 2022.
