The Philippines' foreign trade in agricultural products totaled us $22.49 billion in 2021, increased 19.8% year on year, the Philippine Statistics Department reported on April 18. The main agricultural trading partners are the United States, China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Australia, Japan and the Netherlands.
Agricultural exports totaled 6.79 billion US dollars, increased 9.4% year on year, accounting for 9.1% of total commodity exports. The top ten categories of agricultural products accounted for 95.7% of the total, mainly including edible fruits and nuts, animal and vegetable fat, fruit and vegetable products, animal food products, tobacco, etc. imports of agricultural products totaled 15.71 billion US dollars, increased 24.9% year on year, accounting for 13.3% of total commodity imports. The top 10 categories of imported agricultural products accounted for 86.4% of the total, mainly including cereals, food processing waste, other edible products, meat and edible animal viscera.
