The Philippines and China remain the main markets for Vietnamese rice exports

According to the preliminary statistics of Vietnam's General Administration of Customs, In April 2022, Vietnam's national export of 555,769 tons of rice reached 275.95 million US dollars, with an average of 496.5 US dollars/ton, with a double growth of 5%.  Prices also edged up 0.3 percent compared to March 2022.  
 
In the first four months of 2022, Vietnam's national rice exports reached nearly 2.06 million tons, or about $1.01 billion, up 4.4 % in quantity but down 6 % in value year-on-year.  
       
The Philippines continued to lead in Vietnam rice consumption, accounting for 44.4% and 41.3% of Vietnam's total rice exports, with 915,534 tons of exports worth $422.16 million.  Average $461/t, quantity up 27.9%, turnover up 10.7% compared to the first four months of 2021, but price down 13.5%.  The second market was China, accounting for more than 14.4% of the total volume and 15.4% of Vietnam's total exports, which amounted to 296,941 tons, or about us $155.39 million, with an average price of US $523.3/ton.  Both sales volume and turnover decreased by 20%;  Prices edged down 0.5 percent from the same period in 2021.
