India issued draft regulations on health certificates for imported food products including milk, pork, fish and its products

On 18 August 2022, India issued Circular G/TBT/N/IND/233 on draft regulations on health certificates required for the consignment of imported milk and dairy products, pork and meat products as well as fish and fish products. The main contents are as follows: each import lot of milk and dairy products, pork and products, and fish and fish products shall be accompanied by a health certificate issued by the competent authority of the exporting country in the form specified in Annex I of the Regulations in accordance with Article 11.2 (b) of the Food Safety and Standards (import) Regulations. The draft is scheduled to take effect on Nov 1, 2022.
