Conrado Ferber, director of the National Meat Institute of Uruguay , made a presentation on Uruguayan beef production at the China International Meat Conference hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce For import and Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce And Animal By-Products. He said the seemingly contradictory concepts of nature and technology can coexist harmoniously in the development of Uruguayan livestock industry. The technological revolution in livestock systems has led to the production of more meat with stable stocks. The annual exports of Uruguay is more than 500,000 tons of meat, accounting for 5 percent of international trade, making it one of the world's top 10 meat exporters.
