According to official data released by the Bolivian government, from January to October 2022, Bolivia's beef exports reached US$120 million, a record high. In addition, from the perspective of the market, China is the main buyer of Bolivian beef.
Bolivia's "Opinion" reported on December 27 that Benjamín Blanco, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Integration of Bolivia, said in an interview with the media recently that under the background of the international crisis, from January to October this year, Bolivia's beef exports reached record levels in January, with beef exports up 30% in value and 7% in volume year-on-year.
Blanco explained that global beef prices have increased. Although Bolivia's beef export volume has not increased much, its beef export value has achieved significant growth, with a year-on-year increase of up to 30%. In addition, from a market perspective, China is the main export market for Bolivian beef.
Blanco also emphasized that the current government's priority is to ensure the supply of meat products to the Bolivian domestic market at a reasonable price, and meat products are only allowed to be exported under the premise of normal supply in the domestic market.
