On July 26, 2023, the European Commission (EU) issued Regulation (EU) 2023/1536, amending the maximum residue limits of nicotine in certain products.

In Part A of Annex III to Regulation (EC) No 396/2005, the nicotine column is replaced by the following:

Pesticide residues and maximum residue levels (mg/kg) (some products)

It is understood that this regulation shall enter into force on the 20th day of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union. Applicable from 15 September 2023.
