On October 10, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Notice No. 130 of 2023, announcing that from now on, imports of Myanmar farmed aquatic products that meet relevant requirements will be allowed.
Aquacultural aquatic products refer to aquacultural aquatic animal products and their products, algae and other Marine plant products and their products for human consumption, excluding species listed in the Appendix of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and the List of Wildlife under Key State Protection of China, living aquatic animals and aquatic animal and plant reproduction materials.
Myanmar production enterprises (including processing enterprises and independent cold storage) and farms that export farmed aquatic products to China shall be approved by Myanmar authorities and subject to their effective supervision. The sanitary conditions of the production enterprises shall comply with the requirements of the relevant veterinary health and public health regulations of China and Myanmar.
According to Chinese laws and regulations, production enterprises that export aquaculture products to China shall be recommended for registration by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China. No export to China without registration.
