Russian enterprises are allowed to supply dairy products to Hong Kong

SPUTNIK, Moscow, Oct. 24, according to the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision, Russian enterprises can start to supply dairy products to Hong Kong.

 

The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision and the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department of Hong Kong have agreed on the health certificates required for the export of milk and dairy products from Russia to Hong Kong.

 

The announcement pointed out that registered importers in Hong Kong also need to apply for import approval from the Hong Kong Centre for Food Safety in advance.

 

On October 16, Dmitry Krasnov, director of the Russian Agriculture Ministry's Agroexport Center, said Russia wants to at least triple its exports of agricultural products to Hong Kong. Darya Isakova, a representative of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision, said that since 2019, 15 pig farms, 3 beef producers and 17 poultry companies have been approved to supply goods to Hong Kong. At present, the list is still being expanded, and the issue of Russian eggs, small livestock meat and dairy products entering the Hong Kong market is currently being discussed. Exports of Russian agricultural products to Hong Kong almost doubled between January and August this year.

 

From January to August 2023, Russia exported more than 5.5 million tons of agricultural products to China, 2.7 times that of the same period last year; Exports were 1.9 times that of the same period last year.
