On 31 October 2023, the Government of New Zealand published amendments to the “Animal Products Notice: Production, Supply and Processing”, covering red meat, seafood, honey, chicken producers and dairy requirements, and replacing the “Animal Products Notice: Production, Supply and Processing” issued on 16 December 2022.
These proposed amendments make the following changes to each chapter: C: Good Practice (GOP), D: Dairy products, F: Red meat, H: fish K: Honey, M: Validation. The changes include updates to clarify the rules, changes to validation requirements for some departments, and updated training requirements. The purpose of the notice is to supplement the requirements of the Animal Products Act 1999 and the Animal Products Regulations 2021 with respect to: a) the production, supply and processing of animal materials and animal products; b) verification; c) Accredited institutions and personnel.
