On November 6, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 162 of 2023, announcing that from now on, the import of Russian wild aquatic products that meet the relevant requirements will be allowed.
Wild aquatic products refer to wild aquatic living resources for human consumption, namely aquatic animal and plant products such as fish, aquatic invertebrates, aquatic mammals, algae, etc. Species, living aquatic animals and aquatic animal breeding materials listed in the Appendix of the “Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora” (CITES) and the “List of National Key Protected Wild Animals in China” are not included.
According to the “Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China” and the “Law of the People's Republic of China on the Entry and Exit Animal and Plant Quarantine”, the manufacturers that export wild aquatic products to China shall be recommended for registration by the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision to the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China. No export to China without registration.
