GACC Announcement No. 168 of 2023 (Announcement on Inspection and quarantine Requirements for Imports of Belarusian honey)

On November 17, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 168 of 2023, announcing that from now on, Belarusian honey that meets the relevant requirements will be allowed to be imported.


Belarusian honey, which is allowed to be imported, is a natural sweet substance made by bees after they collect nectar, secretions or honeydew from plants and mix it with their own secretions.


The processing enterprises of honey exported to China shall be registered with the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the Chinese side). The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as the Belarusian side) shall review the honey processing enterprises to be exported to China and recommend them to the Chinese side if they are found to be in compliance with Chinese laws, regulations, standards and the requirements of the Protocol. Unregistered honey processing enterprises are not allowed to export honey to China.


At the same time, the announcement also detailed the import needs to meet the relevant requirements, including inspection and quarantine requirements, packaging and identification requirements, certificate requirements.
