According to the U.S. Federal Register, on 1 March 2024, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued Regulation 2024-04372, which exempts a wide range of fragrances (Various Fragrance Components) from residue limits.
According to the regulation, these fragrances are exempt from the residue limits when they are used as inert ingredients in antimicrobial pesticide formulations in public food service establishments, dairy processing equipment, and food contact surfaces of food processing equipment and utensils at end-use concentrations that do not exceed 100 ppm.
This provision is effective from 1 March 2024 and applications for objections or requests for hearings need to be submitted by 30 April 2024.
