EU authorized the placing on the market of 3-Sialyllactose sodium salt as a novel food

On 10 April 2024, the European Commission published Regulation (EU) 2024/1047 which, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 2015/2283 of the European Parliament and of the Council, to authorize the placing on the market of 3 '-Sialyllactose sodium salt as a novel food and to amend the annex to the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/2470 of the European Commission.

 

It is understood that the 3 '-sialactose sodium salt is produced by a strain derived from E. coli W (ATCC 9637).

 

These Regulations shall take effect on the 20th day as of the date of promulgation.
