Crispy fried powder exported to China detected with excessive sulfur dioxide content

On June 25, 2024, Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released a list of unqualified food products at the border, showing that a batch of Indonesian crispy frying powder was detected with a bleach content that did not comply with regulations.

The notification shows that the name of the Indonesian manufacturer or exporter is PT. PonDAN PANGAN MAKMUR and the importer in Taiwan is Fudun Co.

 

According to the notification, sulfur dioxide was detected in the batch of crispy fried powder at 0.049 g/kg. According to the "Scope and Limit of Use and Specification Standard for Food Additives", the amount of bleaching agent used in other processed food products is less than 0.03 g/kg of sulfur dioxide residue, which does not conform to the provisions of Article 18 of Food Safety and Hygiene Administration Law.

 

The unqualified products totaled 288.00 kilograms, all of which were returned or destroyed.
