On July 16, 2024, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 84 of 2024, announcing that with immediate effect, Guinea-Bissau cashews meeting the relevant requirements are allowed to be imported.
The cashew nuts of Guinea-Bissau that are allowed to be imported refer to shelled or shelled nuts for human consumption made from cashew nuts (Anacardium occidentale Linn.) planted in Guinea-Bissau, which are selected, dried and other processing techniques in Guinea-Bissau.
Guinea-Bissau cashew producers should ensure that their cashew nuts exported to China comply with China's food safety and phytosanitary laws and regulations as well as China's national food safety standards. The production, processing and storage units of cashew nuts exported to China are recommended by several Bissau parties and registered by the Chinese side.
At the same time, the announcement also lists in detail the import needs to meet the relevant requirements, including processing requirements, packaging and labeling requirements, transportation requirements, certificate requirements.
