South Korea proposed to amend regulation to limit food advertisement time on some programs for children

On November 12, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of the Republic of Korea issued Announcement No. 2024-516, which proposes to amend parts of the Enforcement Decree of the Special Act on the Administration of Children's Dietary and Life Safety, the main points of which are as follows:

 

If advertisements contain high-calorie, low-nutrient foods and high-caffeine foods, some of the advertisement time will be restricted or the scope of broadcast programs that can be prohibited from broadcasting advertisements will be adjusted to reasonably improve the restriction of broadcasting advertisements.

 

The above comment period is open until December 22, 2024.
