On Nov. 13, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of the Republic of Korea issued a statement that a Korean food company had been ordered to stop selling and recall a snack product produced and processed by a company that had been detected with excessive levels of fumonisin.
Fumonisin was detected in the product at 4 mg/kg. In Korea, the standard for fumonisin in such products is less than 1 mg/kg.
Recall Target: Products with production date labeled as October 26, 2024
