GACC Announcement No. 161 of 2024 (Announcement on Phytosanitary Requirements for Fresh Coconut Imported from Indonesia)

On November 15, 2024, the General Administration of Customs of China issued Announcement No. 161 of 2024, announcing that from now on, imports of fresh coconuts from Indonesia that meet relevant requirements will be allowed.

 

Coconut orchards and packaging plants exported to China shall be audited by the National Quarantine Bureau of the Republic of Indonesia (hereinafter referred to as the Indonesian side) and approved for registration by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the Chinese side). The registration information should include name, address and registration number for accurate traceability in the event that the export goods do not comply with relevant regulations. The Indonesian side shall provide the registration list to the Chinese side before export and update it every year, which shall be published on the website of the General Administration of Customs after approval by the Chinese side.

 

At the same time, the announcement also detailed the relevant requirements for imports, including packaging requirements, plant quarantine certificate requirements.
