On November 19, 2024, Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released a list of unqualified food products at the border, showing that a batch of cheese from France was detected with microbial content that did not comply with the regulations.
The notification showed that the French manufacturer or exporter was named FROMAGERIE NAPIOT, and the importer in Taiwan was Toyo International Co.
It is understood that the batch of products detected E. coli 1100 MPN/g, 240 MPN/g, 43 MPN/g, 240 MPN/g, 240 MPN/g. According to the “Microbiological Hygiene Standard for Foods”, E. coli in the cheese test results, 5 samples, ≦ 2 samples are allowed to microbiological test values between 10 MPN/g (mL) and 100 MPN/g (mL), and 100 MPN/g (mL). MPN/g(mL), but none of the samples shall have a test value >100 MPN/g(mL), this case does not comply with the provisions of Article 17 of the Food Safety and Hygiene Administration Law.
Total 18.00 kilograms of unqualified products were returned or destroyed.
