GACC Announcement No. 171 of 2024 (Announcement on Quarantine and Hygienic Requirements for the Importation of Feed Protein Powder and Feed Oils and Fats from Mongolia)

On 27 November 2024, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 171 of 2024, announcing that with immediate effect, importation of feed protein powder and feed oils and fats from Mongolia that meet the relevant requirements is permitted.


Feed animal protein powder in this announcement refers to protein powder for feedstuffs derived from fresh horse-related by-products of slaughter plants of animals intended for human consumption, processed through high temperature and high pressure steaming and high temperature spray drying and other processes.

 

The fats and oils for feeding in this Notice refer to fats and oils for feedstuffs made from fresh by-products of horses, cows and sheep originating from slaughterhouses of animals for human consumption, and processed through high temperature and high pressure steaming and precipitation.

 

Producers of feed protein powder and feed oils and fats to be exported to China are approved by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Livestock and Light Industry of Mongolia and recommended to the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the Chinese side), and are qualified and registered by the Chinese side.

 

At the same time, the announcement also lists in detail the import needs to meet the relevant requirements, including production requirements, packaging and labelling requirements, entry inspection and quarantine requirements.
