Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development reported that in the first 11 months of 2024, Vietnam exported 6.66 billion U.S. dollars of fruits and vegetables, up 28.2% year-on-year. Of this, $4.1 billion was exported to China, up 28.7% year-on-year, accounting for 66.5% of Vietnam's fruit and vegetable export market share, making it the top export market for Vietnam's fruits and vegetables. The US and South Korea came second and third, accounting for 4.7% and 4.3% of the market share respectively.
In the first 11 months, exports from 14 of Vietnam's 15 major fruit and vegetable export markets increased year-on-year, the report said. Exports of major products such as durian, bananas, mangoes and pineapple nectar increased sharply by 45%, 24%, 40% and 25% respectively. Vietnam has surpassed Thailand and the Philippines to become China's largest import market for durian, bananas and pineapple nectar. In the first 11 months, Vietnam's durian exports to China amounted to US$3 billion, up 57.3 percent year-on-year.
