Denmark published a special survey on aflatoxin and ochratoxin A levels in food for 2024

On December 3, 2024, the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (DVFA) released the report of a special investigation into the levels of aflatoxins and ochratoxin A in food in 2024, as described below:

  

A total of 19 samples were taken in February-September 2024, of which aflatoxins were detected in 6 out of 19 samples. In one sample of dried dates, aflatoxin B1 and the sum of aflatoxins were found to be present at levels exceeding the MLVs. A total of eight samples were tested for ochratoxin A. Ochratoxin A was detected in three samples but at levels below the limit.
